Summer Engineering
Internships
This summer, do you want to be stuck in a cubicle crunching numbers – or out and about doing real work? Do you want to learn by actually doing – or just pushing paper? Do you want an internship that’s not just a one-time thing, but can lead right into a job when you graduate?
Every year, RCL Engineering Group seeks full-time Tier I, Tier II, and Tier III Interns during the summer.
As internship levels progress, interns at RCL receive practical training in Forensic Structural Engineering.
In an RCL internship, you’ll learn . . .
Through a variety of work experiences . . .
Do you have what it takes?
Job responsibilities: While working under the supervision of a Senior Engineer, you’ll assist with site visits to observe, document, collect, verify, and document existing civil conditions; assist with the preparation of reports, construction specification documents and repair protocols; prepare or review drawings, plans and specifications; assist with the design of various structural details; interact with clients to present findings and provide updates; and keep timely and accurate time logs.
Internship requirements: You must be pursuing a BS degree in Structural Engineering, have your Engineering Intern (EI) certification or ability to obtain one within six months, have a working knowledge of AutoCAD, and possess excellent writing and verbal communication skills. You must have the ability to carry 30 lbs. and work in any and all of the following: outside; standing up or laying down; on suspended scaffolding; in confined spaces; and in and around construction sites.
At RCL, we work hard. And sometimes we relax.
We work hard – but we always take time for fun.
We’re a small firm, and we enjoy our flexibility. Interns get to do what we do – like attend “lunch and learns” where industry experts share their knowledge, or take continuing education credits. Like attending company marketing events – golf outings, events on the water, or participating in fundraising events for our charity partners. And sometimes, when we can squeeze it in, we barbeque on the occasional Friday.
So that’s us. What about you?
Tell us a little about you, your educational interests and your career goals. Please email your letter of interest and resume to Dale Kent at dalek@rcleng.com
